IGPA 2022

Dates

The Piano Competition 2022 will take place from November 25th to including November 27th.

  • Friday, November 25th: Arrival of all Participants.
  • Saturday, November 26st: First Round and Second Round
  • Sunday, November 27th: Third Round and Final Round

Prizes and Awards

  • Endowed with € 20,000.00
  • Audience-Award: the audience will select the audience awardee. The prize is endowed with € 3,000
  • Winners’ and or Nominees concerts
  • CD recording
  • Laureate Jury membership at the IGPA 2022
  • All nominees will receive a valuable certificate
  • The IPF takes over the travel and hotel costs
  • IPF-Masters-Management for the Nominees and Laureates

Application Requirements

Conditions for participants

  • The 11th International German Piano Award 2022 is open to professional pianists of all nationalities. A total of 6 pianists will be nominated for 2022.
  • Pianists who have already taken important steps in their careers may participate. They are personalities who have demonstrated, that they have the potential for a concert career, both artistically and in their overall presence or are already performing in concerts.
  • Also Pianists who have already applied in the past or participants from German or international music universities and/or conservatories are invited to send their applications.

Application documents

  • Piano solo recording of 20 minutes.
  • The recording must be as recent as possible and not older than one year. It is expected to send a recording of highest sound and picture quality. Interruptions and/or cuts within a piece are not allowed.
  • CV, picture (high resolution) and contact details.
  • The pianists are asked to send their recording by www.weTransfer.com to the following email address:

Repertoire for the application

  • Variety of styles is desired. Only piano solo repertoire is admitted.
  • The choice for the repertoire is at the free decision of the artist.

Important: The following piano concertos must be available:

  • Chopin – Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor, Op. 11
  • Beethoven – Piano Concerto No. 5 in E♭ major, Op. 73 – Emperor Concerto
