The Piano Competition 2021 will take place from October 17th to including October 20th, in Frankfurt.

    Prizes and Awards

  • Endowed with € 20,000.00
  • FAZ-Audience-Award: the audience will select the audience awardee. The prize is endowed with € 3,000
  • Winners’ and or Nominees concerts

  • Laureate Jury membership at the IGPA 2021
  • All nominees will receive a valuable certificate
  • The IPF takes over the travel and hotel costs
  • IPF-Masters-Management for the Nominees and Laureates

    Conditions for participants

  • The 10th International German Piano Award 2021 is open to professional pianists of all nationalities. A total of 6 pianists will be nominated for 2021. 3 pianists from 2020 who were already nominated and could not participate because of Covid-19 will be nominated automatically. 3 further pianists will be nominated from the sent applications for 2021.
  • Pianists who have already taken important steps in their careers may participate. They are personalities who have demonstrated, that they have the potential for a concert career, both artistically and in their overall presence or are already performing in concerts.
  • Also Pianists who have already applied in the past or participants from German or international music universities and/or conservatories are invited to send their applications.

  • Application documents

  • Piano solo recording of 20 minutes
  • The recording must be as recent as possible and not older than one year. It is expected to send a recording of highest sound and picture quality. Interruptions and/or cuts within a piece are not allowed
  • CV, picture (high resolution) and contact details.
  • The pianists are asked to send their recording by www.weTransfer.com to the following email address: [email protected].

  • Repertoire for the application

  • Variety of styles is desired. Only piano solo repertoire is admitted.
  • The choice for the repertoire is at the free decision of the artist.

  • Important: The following piano concerto must be available:

  • Ludwig v. Beethoven - Piano Concerto No 4 in G major, Op 58
